The city of Daly City
uses Measure A funding, together with the state gas tax allocation and other grant
funds, to maintain and improve its local streets, pedestrian and bicycle pathways and
shuttle services. Measure A allocation amounts to approximately 33 percent of the
entire budget for maintenance, operation and improvements to the city's streets,
streetlights, traffic signals, street sweeping, signage and other local transportation
programs.
The city uses most of the Measure A revenue for repairing and resurfacing the highest
priority streets identified by the Pavement Management Program. The city maintains
more than 113 miles of streets. Measure A revenue provides funds for overlaying one
mile of collector streets and slurry sealing of approximately five miles of
residential streets in a year.
Since January 1989, Measure A has provided the city approximately $14 million for
maintenance and improvement of local streets and transportation. Combined with grants
and gas tax funds, the city has used these funds to complete the following major
