Howard/Brittan avenues, San Carlos

This project is for the grade separation of Howard and Brittan streets in San Carlos from the existing railroad tracks by creating a railroad bridge structure to accommodate traffic underneath.  The project is being implemented in 2 phases as follows:

PHASE A involves the installation of a temporary track known as a "shoofly", and the cut-over of the trains from the existing tracks to the shoofly.

PHASE B includes lowering of Howard and Brittan streets, constructing elevated track and structures, switching over railroad operation to the new bridge and demolition of the shoofly.

Howard and Brittan streets will be closed to traffic at certain stages of the construction, in which alternate routes will be in place.

This project is complete.

Future activities include the project close out.
