The San Mateo County Transportation Authority will
hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 2, to receive comments about its
proposed capital and operating budgets for fiscal year 2006.
The hearing will be held as part of the TA’s monthly meeting, which begins
at 5 p.m. at its administrative offices, 1250 San Carlos Ave. in San Carlos.
The TA is responsible for administering the Measure A half-cent sales tax
funds for transportation improvements in San Mateo County.
Measure A helps fund Redi-Wheels and RediCoast paratransit services for
people with disabilities. Other TA projects include Caltrain improvements
and county highway improvements.
Members of the public may receive a copy of the budgets by contacting the
board secretary at 650-508-6279.
The public may provide comments on the proposed budget at the public
hearing, or by calling 1-800-660-4287 (TDD only 650-508-6448). Written
comments also may be submitted to Transportation Authority Board Secretary,
