The San Mateo County Transportation Authority,
which administers the voter-approved, half-cent
Measure A sales tax to fund transportation
projects in San Mateo County, swore in three
reappointed members and elected new board
officers at its monthly board meeting.
Mark Church, Rosanne Foust and Rosalie
O’Mahony were sworn in to new two-year
terms. The board then elected Foust and
O’Mahony as chair and vice chair, respectively.
Church represents the San Mateo County
Board of Supervisors on the TA board. He
is the county supervisor for district one, and
has served on the TA board since 2001.
Vice Chair O’Mahony represents central
county cities on the TA board. She is the
vice mayor of Burlingame and has served
on the TA since 2006.
Chair Foust, represents south county cities
on the TA board. She is the vice mayor of
Redwood City and has served on the TA
board since 2005. She succeeds John
Lee, the TA representative for county
cities-at-large and city councilman
for San Mateo.
“I’m extremely honored to have been elected
chair,” said Foust. “The TA has funded so
many important transportation projects in our
county, and I look forward to continuing the
work that has earned this board the trust
and respect of county voters.”
The TA board has seven appointed members,
representing the county government, the cities
throughout the county and the San Mateo County
Transit District. The TA meets the first Thursday
of each month at 5 p.m. at 1250 San Carlos Ave.,
