The San Mateo County Transportation
Authority is an independent agency formed
to administer the proceeds of a 20-year
countywide half-cent sales tax. Measure
A, which established the program, was
approved by voters in June 1988. County
voters in 2004 reauthorized the sales tax
and its publicly developed expenditure
plan for an additional 25 years. The TA
will continue to fund vital transportation
improvements through 2033.
