The San Mateo County Transportation Authority’s Citizens Advisory Committee will hold a series of four public meetings throughout the county to provide information and solicit public comment on the process that will be used to prioritize transportation projects and programs that the TA will consider for funding. The projects being considered were identified in the ballot measure that was approved by county voters in November 2004.
By Jan. 1, 2009, the TA must prepare its strategic plan, which will define a process to ensure timely, cost-effective implementation of identified Measure A transportation projects and programs. The community meetings will help establish the process and allow the TA to move forward with the development of the strategic plan.
The schedule of meetings is:
-
Daly City Hall – Rotunda
Monday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.
-
San Mateo City Hall – Conference Room C
Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
-
Pacifica Community Center
Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
-
Redwood City Library – Community Room
Tuesday, Oct 16 at 7 p.m.
The TA was established in 1988 to administer the proceeds from the voter-approved half-cent Measure A sales tax to implement transportation improvements throughout San Mateo County. In 2004, voters reauthorized a 25-year extension of the program that will take effect in 2009.
