The San Mateo County Transportation Authority is soliciting applicants for vacancies on its Citizens Advisory Committee. The 15-member, volunteer CAC acts as a liaison between the public and the board of directors, providing valuable input to the board on countywide transportation issues.

The CAC meets on the Tuesday preceding the first Thursday of the month at 4:30 p.m. in San Carlos. Members of the CAC must be residents of San Mateo County. Interested persons can download an application from the TA Web site at www.smcta.com, or call 650-508-6223.

Deadline for submitting applications is Monday, April 13, at 5 p.m.

The TA is an independent agency formed to administer the proceeds of a countywide half-cent sales tax. Measure A, which established the program, was originally approved by voters in June 1988 and reauthorized in recent years to continue through 2033.
