Measure A
Since 1988, when San Mateo County voters passed Measure A by 61.7%, the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) has worked to improve transit and relieve traffic congestion. The measure was reauthorized by San Mateo County voters in 2004 by 75.3%.
Measure W
In 2018, when San Mateo County voters passed Measure W Ordinance by 66.9%, they provided the county with additional resources to improve transit and relieve traffic congestion raised from a ½ cent sales tax. Half of those funds are administered by the San Mateo County Transportation Authority while the remaining half are administered by SamTrans.
Strategic Plan 2020-2024
The purpose of the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) 2020-2024 Strategic Plan is to provide the policy framework and guidance for implementing both the ongoing Measure A Transportation Programs and the TA administered portion of the new Measure W Congestion Relief Plan.
