Transportation Authority to Hold Public Hearing Regarding Proposed Budgets

The San Mateo County Transportation Authority will hold a public hearing on Thursday, May 21, to receive comments about its proposed capital and operating budgets for Fiscal Year 2010.

The hearing will be held as part of the TA’s monthly board meeting, which begins at 4 p.m. at its administrative offices, 1250 San Carlos Ave. in San Carlos.

The TA is responsible for administering the Measure A half-cent sales tax funds for transportation improvements in San Mateo County. Measure A helps fund Redi-Wheels and RediCoast paratransit services for people with disabilities. Other TA projects include Caltrain improvements and county highway improvements, such as Highway 101 auxiliary lanes.

The Proposed Annual Operating and Capital budgets are available for public inspection at the above address or by calling 650-508-6242.

The public may provide comments on the proposed budget at the public hearing, or by calling 1-800-660-4287 (TTY 650-508-6448). Written comments also may be submitted to Transportation Authority Board Secretary, P.O. Box 3006, San Carlos, CA 94070-1306, by 4 p.m., Thursday, May 21.
