San Mateo County residents have a new tool to help illustrate where transportation dollars are being spent. The San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) recently launched an interactive funding map on the agency’s website.

“The scope of TA-funded transportation projects throughout San Mateo County is varied and dynamic,” said TA Executive Officer Peter Skinner. “We wanted to create an easy way for residents to see how their tax dollars are being used to increase equity, safety and access for all forms of transportation.”

Users of the map tool can match their specific interests by choosing from various layers to tailor the view of projects being funded. These include improvements focused on:

  • Pedestrians and bicycles

  • Alternative congestion relief and transportation demand management

  • Highways

  • Caltrain grade separations

  • Ferries

  • Shuttles

City and county boundary layers are also available for further tailoring. In addition, there is an option to display project status.

The TA will update the funding map twice annually to reflect project changes and new funding additions during the course of the year.
