The San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA) turns your local tax dollars into transportation solutions for San Mateo County. Since 1988, the SMCTA has funded projects that help residents get where they need to go, from new bike lanes to safer rail crossings, highway improvements, and more.

Powered by Measure A & Measure W

Two local transportation measures fund the SMCTA’s work. Measure A has supported transit and congestion relief since 1988, and Measure W, in effect since 2019, adds funding for highways, local streets, grade separations, bike and pedestrian facilities, and transit connections.
