About the SMCTA Board of Directors

The Board, who are city councilmembers appointed by the Board of Supervisors; the San Mateo Transit District (SamTrans); and the City Selection Committee representing a judicial districts listed below in San Mateo County, serve two-year terms:

• Northern Judicial Cities: Brisbane, Colma, Daly City, Pacifica, San Bruno, South San Francisco
• Central Judicial Cities: Belmont, Burlingame, Foster City, Half Moon Bay, Hillsborough, Millbrae, San Mateo
• Southern Judicial Cities: Atherton, East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Portola Valley, Redwood City, San Carlos, Woodside
• Cities-at-Large: All

The Board meets on the first Thursday of the month at 5:00 pm to determine overall policy for the Authority.  Agendas are available approximately one week before the meetings. 

Correspondence to the Board may be emailed to Board@SMCTA.com or mailed to 1250 San Carlos Ave., San Carlos, CA 94070, which will be compiled and posted weekly on Friday (holidays excluded). To be included in the Board's weekly correspondence reading file, it must be received by 2:00 PM the day before. For the week of the Board meeting, it must be received by 2:00 PM the day before the Board meeting. All correspondence, including personal information (i.e. names and email addresses), shall become disclosable public records.
