The TDM Program supports projects that help reduce traffic, improve air quality, and give people more choices for how they travel. The funding comes from voter-approved Measure A and Measure W tax revenues, which help pay for transportation improvements in San Mateo County. 

Whether you bike, walk, ride a scooter, hop on a bus or train, or drive a car — the TA wants to hear from you. 

The funding supports two complementary grant programs focused on enhancing mobility and transit connectivity. Together, these programs represent a significant investment in public transit access, commuter options, and equitable transportation infrastructure. 

San Mateo County residents passionate about improving mobility and ensuring responsible use of transportation dollars are encouraged to apply for open seats on the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) Community Advisory Committee (CAC). 

This move makes funding available for critical investments in pedestrian and bicycle improvements, transit connections, grade separations, and highway congestion relief
