The 2025 SMCTA Bike to Wherever Days Energizer Station at Millbrae Station

The San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA) will join the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, SamTrans and Caltrain in celebrating Bike to Wherever Days by co-sponsoring an Energizer Station at Millbrae Station on Friday, May 15, from 7 to 10:45 a.m.

The annual Bike to Wherever Days campaign asks people across the Bay Area to pledge to ride bicycles for commuting, recreation and everyday trips during National Bike Month. Organized by the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, the event features Energizer Stations throughout the region where bicyclists can stop for refreshments, giveaways and community support.

The Millbrae Station Energizer Station will offer free snacks, waters and giveaways while highlighting the important connection between bicycling and public transportation.

“Bike to Wherever Days is a fun way to encourage more people to experience the benefits of biking, whether they are commuting to work, connecting to transit or simply exploring their community,” said SMCTA Chief Officer Peter Skinner. “The SMCTA is proud to help support a multi-modal transportation network that makes those trips safer and more accessible for everyone traveling in San Mateo County.”

Through local transportation sales tax funding, the SMCTA helps deliver many of the county’s bicycle and pedestrian improvements, including trails, bike lanes, safer street crossings and connections to transit stations. Those investments help create a more connected transportation system and give residents more ways to travel safely without relying solely on cars.

Bike to Wherever Days runs May 14-16 and includes community rides, Energizer Stations and other activities across Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.
