The 15-member volunteer Community Advisory Committee (CAC) acts as a liaison between the public and the Board of directors, providing valuable input to the board on the projects and programs in the Transportation Expenditure Plan, which outlines the goals, guidelines and requirements for the expenditure of the sales tax revenues generated by Measure A, a measure that was approved by 75.3 percent of the voters of San Mateo County in 2004, and Measure W, which San Mateo County voters passed by a 66.9 percent margin in 2018. The plan includes Caltrain improvements, highway and street projects, allocations to cities and the county for local undertakings, paratransit service for people with disabilities, and pedestrian and bike facilities.
